I have not forsaken thee...

I've just been super busy. Tis the season, all that jazz.

so we've started Attention 1 classes, we're actually taking the same class with two different instructors - I have a feeling I'm in this class thing for the long haul and I wanted to make up my mind whose teaching style I prefer. I've been considering playing with the idea of doing Rally obedience with the 'snooks although that will come second to getting his TDI and starting Therapy work. I guess we'll see which he'd prefer, Rally or Agility. Sandy is going to be starting Agility classes with Nanook in January for the hell of it really, but also because Nanook LOVES the equipment. He just adores tunnels, slides, wobble boards, dog walks, etc. Although I really don't know how he's going to do with the jumps!

Anyway, Nanook has been steadily improving in his general behaviors - he still chases two of the cats although he and Bear are still 98 % cool. They actually clean each other. Now if I could just get the other two cats to stop running every time they see Nanook, thus flipping the big flashing red switch in his brain that says, "PREY! CHASE!" all would be calm, and all would be bright.

Well. C'est la vie. We're gearing up for Christmas by washing all of Nanook's existing toys, and buying him an absurd number of presents. Having filled an entire laundry basket with his existing stuffies, I'm a bit embarrassed that we bought him more. Oh well. We got him some really neat ones. The ones called Egg Babies and also a puzzly one...and two with big slingshots built into their butts that you can use to fling them super far.

What's not to like?

bugs

Weeeeell - I've been finding small white worms in Nanook's poop for the past few days so I brought in a fecal sample to the vet. I even MADE SURE that there was a worm IN the poop I brought to them. (And you don't want to know what I had to go through to ensure that - although I bet you can all guess). The worm tests came back negative. What the heck? These things are pure white, maybe an 1/8 to a 1/4 of an inch long, and every one I've seen that is exposed will try to crawl down into the poop where it is warm. (ew.) They are not flat, and they don't really look like a grain of rice. They're quite skinny. The vet said it can't be roundworm because the test came back negative, so it must be tapeworm and he gave me the wormers for that.

But they don't look like tapeworm segments to me. I might have to try to figure out some way to snag one outside the poop. (ew) And bring THAT in to the vet. (Ew again.)
