This Newf Reviews!

Always on the lookout for the newest and best dog toy, I have stumbled across a product that I cannot keep to myself. Therefore, I proudly bring you my first installment of This Newf Reviews.*

Dog Bloggers - have you ever found yourself sitting around, chewing on your bully stick, and wishing that your dog toy brought you closer to moksha? Have you sought Nirvana in your bad cuz but found yourself still irrevocably tied to earthly concerns?

Dog Owners - are you tired of listening to the same old high-pitched Squeak-Squeak-Squeak as your dog entertains him(or her)self? Would you like to spend an evening in meditative peace for once, without having to put all the toys away out of reach?

Behold the Om Ball!

Created by fascinating (and very pleasant to speak to on the phone) dog toy purveyor Bodhi Toys the Om Ball chants the mystic syllable when bounced. What could be more delightful? (If you visit their homepage, you will hear the mystic syllable as it plays when the ball is dropped. I can't stop listening to it!)

This toy is so brand spankin' new it's not even available for purchase yet, (which is how I wound up speaking to them on the phone, because I looked all over their website for ordering information and could not find it), but it should be possible to buy one within the first few weeks in May if you cannot resist my hard sell here. Delight! Felicity!

I have also heard rave reviews of the Bodhi Lucky Carp from Paws & Pose in Long Branch, NJ. The owner there said that the squeaker in the Lucky Carp is, verily, the loudest squeaker she has ever heard, and she cannot keep the Carp in stock. Does anyone even know if it is Carp season? She also said that she brings the Carp to the beach, (which seems risky to this Newf - fish are notoriously sneaky once they get back into the water), and that the dogs just go nuts over it. The most useful aspect? Even if another dog snags it, you ALWAYS know where it is because its squeak is so very loud it cannot be missed. Chances of losing the Carp to another dog are slim.

The current stock of Bodhi Toys includes three different genres - China, India, and Form. Of the China toys, I particularly took note of the Lotus squeaker, and I admit to falling in love with the Carp, so it is possible that if I do the St. Bernard face pitifully enough, I can convince my mama to buy the gift basket with both of them in it. I think the gift baskets are very charming, and a wonderful house-warming gift for a new puppy! Would you call that a puppy-warming gift? Although it doesn't look like I will be getting a little brother or sister any time soon after all, (I am depressed), I do know a lot of you dogs have new siblings. Now is the time to show these toys to your people. Arooooooo!
