Ha ha! Papa caught me on camera - in mid-flooger-flinging action! Amazing isn't it!And now allow me to introduce you to a treat that will REALLY get your floogers flowin' - Frosty Paws. No pup should spend a summer without enjoying a Frosty and delicious treat!
BUT! Don't let the title fool you - this review isn't going to urge your people to run out and purchase immense amounts of doggy ice cream. That would be just plain silly and very expensive - no no, instead my mama is going to share with you a recipe to make your OWN Frosty Paws treats! It was passed along to us by a lovely lady on Newf.net named Lori. I'm guessing we probably shouldn't use the name Frosty Paws for this, maybe we should call it something else. Nippy Newfs? Numbing Nibbles? Well, anyway...
This Newf Reviews: Nippy Newfy Nibbles!
Company Standards: Well - it's YOU baby, so you can determine your own standards! In this house we try to use organic materials as much as possible to limit the amount of hormones and chemicals that we consume - so we use organic yogurt, all-natural peanut butter. But what you put into these delicious little cups of frozen doggy goodness is entirely in your hands. And in my tummy. Mmmmmmm...
Size and Portability: This, too, is up to you! Although we suggest respectfully that the frozen nature of the treat limits the portability.
Recipe (as transcribed by the famed Lori):
32 oz. plain yogurt
2 Tbls. Peanut Butter
2 Tbls. Honey
1/3 cup water
1 banana
Sometimes I put melon or applesauce in. Or what ever I have on hand. Sometimes I top with a biscuit or biscuit crumbs.
Mix in a blender and pour into individual cups.
I use small containers from the deli dept. with lids. Stackable in the
freezer.
Drool-o-Meter Rating*: I'm a newf so anything cold in the summer months gets my unequivocal support. These, however; have a special place in my heart. And my gut. Good gravy they are delicious. I give them a Simultaneous-Ropes-To-The-Floor.
*Newfy Drool-o-Meter Key:
Dry Mouth: Zero interest or appreciation for the item in question - not worth drooling over.
Minicicles: Just the tiniest hint of a droolcicle starting at either corner of the mouth. Drool worthy? Barely.
One-Slinger: The treat is good - good enough to get the juices flowing but not so good that I would offer it as an aperitif on a first date with Sunshade.
Two-Slinger: Now we're talking! The drool is even, it's sling-able, and it has been earned.
Simultaneous-Ropes-to-the-Floor: The highest honor I, or any newf, can offer a treat or toy. So delicious and delightful that the drool flows like water.

I WANT! If my ma ape doesn't get off her tush and make me some I'm coming to New Jersey! You've been warned.

We had a pumpkin and yogurt frozen treat last fall. Now maybe Mama will make this frozen treat too. Her best cooking does not involve any actual cooking.
