Nike. How Could You?

Okay sure, you say you aren't endorsing him again...but you're clearly willing to have him represent your products on the public stage.

Un.Cool. Here is how we feel about you giving Michael Vick free merchandise.

1. Angry. We're seriously annoyed, Nike. Why on earth would you be willing to have that murdering cretin model your athletic gear?

2. Worried. We're concerned that kids and other impressionable people will feel that your endorsement, in goods if not in monetary contracts, means that the crimes he committed are easily forgivable and ought to be forgotten. But so many dogs lost their lives at his hands that we will NEVER forgive him. And we won't forgive you either, Nike.

3. Depressed. We were really hoping you guys would make a stand about the kind of conduct that is, and is not, acceptable from rational adults. He made an incredible number of poor decisions and he acted with wanton cruelty and disregard for life.

The fact that you don't appear to care about that makes us want to bite something. Or someone.

Personally, we'd like to tie him up and leave him someplace dark and scary, with lots of biting insects.

We won't forgive Michael Vick, Nike. And we certainly won't be buying any of your merchandise!

When we first heard Nike had an endorsement deal with Vick we were mad. Then when Nike said 'Oh no it's not an endorsement it's just free stuff' we were incensed!!!

How stupid do you think we are Nike? Not stupid enough to buy your stuff.

I hadnt heard of this guy.. but now ive read up.. im not surprised.. companies like Nike dont give a F'...

The say they are not endorsing him but in the same story????

"He actually just became a Nike client," Principe said Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. "He has a new deal with Nike that we're all very pleased about."

Reached later on Wednesday, Vick's agent, Joel Segal, declined to give any particulars, saying, "he's had a long-standing relationship with Nike. He is looking forward to working with Nike now and in the future."

Disgusting gggrrrrr and I love the way Pooka and Nanook chose to show their anger... well done post

AMEN to that. We fully to do not support Vick or the Eagles or Nike. He is a horrible human. You judge people by how they treat animals.

Well said! We did not hear about this latest development so thanks for sharing. No more Nike for us!

Micheal Vick is a bad bad man. He did awful things to poor innocent dogs. He should not have any endorsements.

He Nanook and Pooka,
1st off we hope Pooka's butt is better. Speaking of butts; just how far up their's do the Nike executives, marketing and PR people stick their heads when they get up in the morning. "oh we don't actually have a marketing deal with Michael Vick, we just get thousands f dollars of free Nike merchandise so that maybe he'll wear it and create a marketing conection that ties him to us." Well done and thought out Nike guys: mission accomplished. Let's see, Michael Vick is dog crap and thus, so is Nike. Gee N&P, we were almost calmed down from this news yesterday, thanks for riling us up again. BOYCOTT NIKE FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF MICHAEL VICK.

It's all about the money - so sad.

Michael Vick is not a nice person and he hasn't changed -

Nike will get no more of our money we will donate it to rescue instead of giving it to the greedy fat cats.

No disrespect intended to our kitty friends.

Well said! Although a football fan, there is no tv in this house allowed to show Vick and his team playing. We will now also be boycotting all Nike products.
I read on a web site where many people said to live and let live...to look at what Ted Kennedy had done. Sorry people, but Kennedy had a car accident; he didn't wantanly murder numerous beings for sport and money.
Shame on Nike and anyone who supports Vick.

Nike deserves to be used as a fire hydrant by all of the dogs at each and every shelter all over the world combined! Never gonna buy their stuff again, nope.

How stupid does Nike think we are? Just because we can't speak their language doesn't mean our mom and dad don't. Hey Nike, read our mom and dad's lips..."You won't get any of our hard earned money, that's for sure!"

Thanks Nanook and Pooka for helping us to boycott Nike!

I thought your blog was so cool that it deserved an award. Come by my blog and check it out.

Thanks for informing us. I never liked Nike but now I have even more arguments to convince my friends and family not to buy anything from them. Cheap labor and poor choices of endorsement: BOO NIKE.

To give anything to this public figure is a sin, especially from a big name company like NIKE; we hope whatever team endorses him nothing but the worse playing season!!
