Nanook and I are members of a website called Newf.net - which is all other newfies and their owners hanging out and talking about us, (as is only natural). Every year our friend Laurel organizes a Secret Santa Paws exchange, and we all exchange gifts with other Newfs, and then we OPEN the gifts while talking about us opening them to everyone else in a chat room.
This year, we got some truly epic toys! There's a floaty twisted Loopy, and a big blue bouncy tube, and a reindeer stuffy, and a Christmas Wubba, and an alien flying saucer thingy, and treats!
We were super excited about all these new toys, and I kept trying to steal all of Nanook's from him to put in my Pooka Dragon Hoard. (I like to pile everything up and then lie on top of it so Nanook can't get to ANYTHING. Hey. I'm a little brother. Being annoying is my job.)
I mean, look at me trying to suck Nanook's brain out of his ear in the picture!
So. That was awesome. But then the Mama said, "you're not done quite yet boys. There's oooooone more gift you haven't opened." And she put a little box in front of us.
It didn't look like it could possibly be holding anything very good, because it was so very little, and we are so very big. Also, it didn't smell like liver, so we were pretty blase about it. But we opened it anyway, because honestly - we like to rip up wrapping paper.
And inside we found this:

We stared at it for a while, and I tried chewing on a corner to see if it was edible, smell notwithstanding...finally the Mama laughed and said, "Ok, ok. You see the gift we got you guys is backordered until June 26th. I'm really sorry we couldn't give it to you guys for Christmas. But we wanted you to know that it is coming, so we framed a picture of it for you."
We stared some more. We had to admit we were still confused.
The Mama said, "Pooka - it's a BABY."
Oh. OH!!!
You guys, I'm FINALLY going to get the little human child I've been asking for, for Christmas, every year since I was 1! I really hope it's a little girl. I LOVE little girls. The Mama says it is too soon to tell for sure.
I hope all of you get whatever your hearts desire for Christmas!
Much love,
Pooka. (And Nanook, who isn't too impressed by little humans but doesn't mind them all that much. Sometimes they are sticky with leftover food, after all.)
