OUR BABY IS HERE!

We are very happy Newfs. Although the Mama has been a bit you know, busy - the Papa has been working hard to make sure that we do not feel left out of anything. He gets up extra early to take us walkies and feed us and get us special drinks out of the garden faucet.

In the meantime, we are watching over our new baby - lying on the floor by the bassinet, and making sure no one gets too close. And Pooka is convinced that a few kisses from him will fix everything when the baby is crying. In short - we are Newfs.

A Quick Update

Pooka is a bazillion times better. Thank you guys for all your good thoughts and well-wishes - they totally worked. His temperature has been normal for about a week now, and he's energetic and bouncy again.

He's still on the antibiotics, and will likely be on them for some time since we still don't know what caused his sudden high fever and we want to make sure we kill whatever it was, (and some things take longer to die than others), but he's really doing awesomely, and we're so glad to have our fuzzy baby bear back in tip-top shape.

Here are some pictures!

A Month Later...

And we're STILL waiting for our baby!!!

But things have been a bit crazy here for the past week, so the baby is probably not going to come soon. Pooka has been very sick. And we still don't know what has caused it.

For the full story from our Mama's perspective, please visit her blog by clicking right here.

What we CAN tell you is that his fever has been much better the past two days - although his temperature is a *little* up this morning at 102.6, he also just went for his first walk since coming home from the Critical Care Unit on Wednesday, so the exercise might have done it.

We are all keeping a very close eye on him. We even guard him while he's sleeping.

The vet *thinks* he has aspiration pneumonia, but she isn't sure. He's getting lots of antibiotics and they do seem to be helping, but he's very tired all the time, and sleeping lots and lots. Please keep him in your thoughts!
